Macphie has been shortlisted for a Scottish Rural Award in the Rural Employer category.

The Scottish Rural Awards, partnered by Scottish Field magazine and the Scottish Countryside Alliance, aim to celebrate the true spirit of working and living in the Scottish countryside.

The Rural Employer category acknowledges companies which actively seek to attract, invest in, retain and reward talent. It recognises businesses which reflect their rural values by fostering a true sense of belonging and community in the workplace.

Head of HR Heather Hannam said, “We’re thrilled to be named a finalist for the second time in this category.

“As a family-owned business in its 90th year, we’re both proud and protective of our family values. It’s these core principles which have helped us foster a strong sense of community among our workforce.”

Macphie was shortlisted for this award in 2016, narrowly losing out to shortbread maker Walkers.

The winners will be revealed at the annual Scottish Rural Awards ceremony which takes place on Thursday 21 March at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh.

Also in the Rural Employer category are Campbell’s of Beauly, Luss Smokehouse, Macleod Construction Limited, Scottish Salmon Company, Shiel Buses, Speyside Cooperage, Urrad Oighreachd Ghabhsainn, Ardnahoe Distillery and Bothwich Castle.
