Education/Industry Links

Group of pupils

Collaborating with education is very important to us

Over the years, we have established strong links with a number of schools and universities locally, nationally and internationally. We are pro-active in organising a variety of initiatives to educate future generations about the diversity of interesting, challenging and rewarding careers available within the food industry, once they have completed their education.

A number of staff give guest lectures at schools and universities. And we regularly welcome work-placement students and groups of school children to both sites. Their visit may focus on specific aspects of the business or challenges including health and safety, production, management organisation, quality testing, marketing, product design, factors influencing location, communication in industry and much more. Students can put their new learning into practice with a range of problem-solving activities closely linked to the school curriculum.

We have also participated in a number of multi-media and virtual learning initiatives. To explore the most recent, which is a Virtual Work Experience please log onto -
