As an informed manufacturer, Macphie actively participates in the consultation and development of legislation via our trade association (abim); currently Regulation 1829/2003, genetically modified food and feed, and 1830/2003, traceability and labeling of genetically modified organisms and the traceability of food and feed products.

Whilst we support the proven, safe use of modern biotechnology, as a means to further improve the quality and performance of products, we respect the policies of individual retailers, manufacturers and consumers on the sourcing and use of conventional ingredients.

Macphie is therefore able to offer a full range of conventional products. This is possible as we have undergone thorough screening of our raw materials and supply chain.

We fully endorse the use of the joint British Retail Consortium and Food and Drink Federation Technical Standard "for the supply of Identity Preserved Non Genetically Modified Food Ingredients and Product", and accordingly apply it throughout our business.
