Rise of the ‘Breakfastarians’ - Macphie

With 80% of Brits now stating that breakfast is the most important meal of the day (Beacon), this once forgotten meal time is not to be overlooked.

As consumers wake up to the importance of breakfast, hectic modern lifestyles are causing the lines to blur on traditional meal times with consumers eating what they want, when they want it; regardless of the time of day. Consumers are becoming more adventurous with what they eat and are deviating from meal time norms. Ancient grains such as spelt, barley and quinoa are predicted to move from the dinner plate to breakfast bowls and even burgers are seeing a rise in popularity on the breakfast menu.

More than half of Britons eat breakfast out of the home with a quarter of these looking for foods that are quick and easy to eat (Mintel). While convenience is key, 83% of consumers still want as wide a range as possible when choosing their morning meal (Beacon). From savoury to sweet, here’s a few of our favourite breakfast recipes;
