The FSA via the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF) which provides expert advice to Government states that their current scientific opinion is that avian flu is not a food safety risk.

Avian Flu H5N1 has been detected in several EU countries, including the UK.

Macphie suppliers are fully assessed and have EU veterinary approval.
