The Macphie head-quarters are located in Glenbervie, north Scotland. Operations are divided between two sites: Glenbervie and Tannochside, in central Scotland. We employ over 300 people between the two sites. Core businesses are the bakery, food service and food manufacturing sectors. Macphie is organised into three commercial divisions: Industrial, Wholesale and Retail. Each division comprises dedicated sales, marketing and technical resources who work in partnership with UK and International customers to create innovative business solutions. Glenbervie The manufacturing site at Glenbervie is amongst the most advanced in Europe and encompasses three main processing plants: Powder, Paste and UHT. A £12m five-year programme of investment in plant and technology included the installation of an advanced dust management system, a waste-water plant and bulk oil and flour silos. In 2005, we announced a further investment of £2.5m in two new Tetra Pak® A3/Flex filling machines and a 25% increase in ware-house facilities.
Tannochside The technologically advanced plant at Tannochside manufactures a range of customised, added-value meal components and liquids, which are ideal for ready to cook meals, ready meals and food service operators. These include sweet and savoury sauces, soups, butters, stuffings, marinades and glazes. These meal components are developed by chefs for chefs using fresh, authentic ingredients of the highest quality to meet customer's unique applications. A range of different packaging formats are also available, including cryovac bulk bags (5 - 10kgs), sachets (60g - 6kgs) and a range of Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) pellets and extruded logs.

Our team of bakers is passionate about maintaining and enhancing the art of baking delicious, high quality bread, cakes and confectionery. Our Chefs Macphie food ingredients are developed by chefs for chefs. Our well-travelled, experienced chefs work in partnership with our food technologists to develop products, which are ideally suited to restaurants, hotels, pubs, event caterers, the travel and leisure sector and food manufacturers. They start with the freshest ingredients of the highest quality, from around the world. These are carefully crafted into a variety of award-winning sweet and savoury sauces, desserts, cream alternatives, soups, butters, stuffings, marinades and glazes.
Key Facts & Figures In 2007 Macphie had a sales turnover of £39.5m and net profits of £3.8m. Global Presence International markets are a core area of the business. The company began exporting in the 1970s and has built up a network of local distributors and partners in diverse international markets. In addition to Macphie branded ingredients, we offer customised solutions that are developed in compliance with local legislation and product specifications, international tastes and palates, varying language and labelling requirements, international distribution requirements and distinct marketing strategies. Macphie has expertise in trading with over 40 countries world-wide.
Subsidiaries GAA (Glenbervie Aberdeen Angus) - a joint venture between Macphie and A K Stoddart, an Edinburgh-based meat processor supplying top quality beef and added-value meat products.
