As a manufacturer of products for the food and drinks industry, it is the policy of Macphie to continuously explore ways of improving the quality of products and service that we provide to meet our customers' needs.

The Company fully recognises the following systems/standards: - Quality Management System ISO 9001*, Environmental Management System ISO 14001*, Food Safety: HACCP, BRC Global Standard - Food and Investors in People.

Maintenance of these standards will ensure that our Quality & Environmental Policy is practised and maintained at all times, and that our products' integrity and food safety conform to the relevant legislation and code of practice. Our undertaking of these Standards demonstrates our commitment to the supply of high quality, safe products and service, whilst reducing the impact on the environment.

In particular, the company focuses on the following objectives:

  • The implementation of an environmental management system to complement our existing management system from which targets and objectives will be set to support a program of continual improvement.
  • To fully comply with all relevant legislation and regulations as a minimum standard, and to keep up to date with changes in industry practice/legislation.
  • Ensuring that staff, at every level and in every department of the company, is aware of the need to comply with the management system and have been suitably trained for this purpose, in accordance with our Investors in People (IIP).
  • Continual investigation of all quality, safety and environmental issues that are applicable to our business and monitoring any changes in practice which may have an impact on the company.
  • To investigate both the efficient use of resources and all on-site activities with a commitment to preventing pollution, thus minimising our impact on the environment.

Our system is therefore to be regarded as a mandatory working tool and it is the responsibility of all employees to ensure that their part in this policy is understood, implemented and maintained.

The policy is formulated in conjunction with our Corporate Plan, where strategies target our business needs and that of our customers.

* Whilst the Glenbervie site currently has accreditation/certification to the aforementioned standards, it should be recognised that Tannochside and GAA are working in accordance with these protocols, without formal certification at this time.
