Macphie Ltd was recently named in the latest Scotland Limited report, listing the country’s top 100 limited companies.
Published by accountants and business adviser firm Grant Thornton, the report is an annual exploration of the 100 most successful private companies.
With 24 food and drink companies appearing on the list, Macphie joined businesses such as Brewdog, Walkers Shortbread and Farne Salmon to make it the top-earning sector with a combined total turnover of £4.7billion.
The North-east was also well represented, with 25 of the companies based in the region.
“In spite of the economic and political uncertainty that may lie ahead, confidence amongst mid-sized companies is proving to be incredibly resilient,” said Neil McInnes, Head of Corporate Finance, Scotland at Grant Thornton.
Scotland Limited 2018 is compiled using the most recent publicly available accounts (as of 1 September 2018) of Scotland’s best performing private businesses
The objective of the report is to identify the country’s top 100 limited companies, and explore what lies behind their position as Scotland’s most dynamic, fastest growing businesses.
