Sea cadets set sail on fundraising project - Macphie

The Macphie charities committee has donated £1,250 to the Stonehaven Sea Cadets to help towards the construction of their new headquarters.

The request came from Macphie business systems adviser, Katrina Jackson, whose husband, Mathew, is one of the sea cadet adult volunteers helping with the build. Mathew and his team need to raise over £100,000 to cover the costs of phase one of the new building which will provide a safe meeting place for the cadets and other community users.

Mathew said, “On behalf of the Stonehaven Sea Cadets, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Macphie for its donation. We’ve been spending our evenings and weekends at the new unit trying to get work done but we still have a long way to go.”

As work continues, Mathew is on the look-out for plumbers and electricians who can help. The Macphie donation is just a drop in the ocean for the cadets so if you’d like to get involved with volunteering or fundraising, contact them on stonehavenseacadets@hotmail.com.

Each year, Macphie donates a percentage of profit to charitable causes and community initiatives. Employees are also encouraged to take part in fundraising events with support from Macphie.
