Millie Tibbins, Business Development Chef at Macphie, is now an official representative of The Burnt Chef Project, a global non-profit dedicated to ending mental health stigma in hospitality.
By joining the ambassador community, Millie is taking an active role in championing mental health awareness and support as the industry continues to grapple with long hours, high stress and intense environments that see four in five professionals face mental health challenges during their careers.
In this role, Millie will act as an advocate for mental health awareness and support, driving this messaging through college visits, awareness campaigns and fundraising events, both on her own and alongside colleagues.
She will also continue embedding mental wellbeing initiatives across our operations, where The Burnt Chef Project’s posters, trained staff and internal campaigns are already helping to signpost support.

Millie said: “I’ve worked in everything from pop-up food stalls to Michelin-starred kitchens and I know first-hand how tough the industry can be. Long hours, stress and anxiety have long been part of the job-but that shouldn’t be the case.
“Becoming an ambassador for The Burnt Chef Project is about helping people see that it’s OK to speak up, take five minutes outside or reach out for support.
“Even small actions can make a difference. If my story can reassure someone that they’re not alone, then it’s worth it.”
Millie has already been active in promoting wellbeing within the workplace. Earlier this year, she completed a 15km Tough Mudder alongside the Activation Team to raise money for the charity. She also supported fellow Business Development Chef Brett Connor on a 450-mile cycle challenge between our Midlands site and Glenbervie headquarters.
