Can you bring a hand on and proactive approach to maintenance? Do you have experience of minimising downtime of machines to avoid costs to the business? Are all your engineering efforts focused upon increasing productivity and efficiencies?

Responsible for planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing equipment and plant. As an Engineer you will be able to identify and rectify faults both Mechanically and Electrically along with ensuring planned maintenance work is completed within specified timescales. A proactive approach is required, and the engineer will be expected to take ownership of issues found and drive to completion without supervision.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Always work safely in accordance with company Health & Safety policies, procedures, practices and legislation.
  • To efficiently and effectively fault find and resolve technical/process issues
  • Resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact to production
  • Complete all maintenance activities on time as planned
  • Adopt an Audit ready approach and maintain engineering systems and documentation to BRC standards.
  • The installation of new plant and services and to be involved in plant alterations.
  • Communicate effectively within and across departments using escalation procedures to manage issues and priorities
  • The maintenance of all factory equipment and plant including maintenance of all property, equipment and plant.
  • To utilise spare parts efficiently & to assist in identifying and maintaining adequate stocks of spare parts.
  • To carry out any reasonable duties as requested by Engineering Management.
  • To maintain electronic plant maintenance records and all associated engineering documentation as required.
  • To log all PPM and Breakdowns within the site CMMS system (IFS)

Person Specification

  • Experienced in both mechanical and electrical engineering – preferable
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work independently and identify areas that need preventive maintenance
  • Manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • Successful track record of working within a fast paced and demanding environment
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments and document method statement
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.
  • A flexible attitude to working

Desirable skills or experience:

  • Working Knowledge of Steam/Pressure systems
  • Any UHT process experience would be advantageous
  • inspection and Testing 2391
  • Experience of food manufacturing environment
  • Working Knowledge of HACCP
