Working Farm Manager vacancy at Macphie

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a working farm manager at Glenbervie Farm, Kincardineshire.

The farm is a mixed enterprise of approximately 1,200 acres excluding forestry with around 500 acres of spring barley and 190 pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle. There is a full complement of machinery and equipment which is maintained to a high standard and is in good condition.

The role:

  • Day-to-day management of the arable and livestock enterprises
  • Involvement in the diversified farm business, including property and renewable technologies
  • Managing and supervising farm staff, working closely with the farm owners
  • Hands on running of the cattle and arable enterprises on the farm
  • Day-to-day responsibility for the management of the farming business. This includes farm enterprise planning, budgeting and cashflows, as well as the marketing of produce from the farm and the planning and purchase of inputs for the farm in accordance with the farm budgets

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership and managerial experience along with excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience working with livestock and arable farming systems
  • Must be technically competent with strong financial management skills
