Macphie news | Macphie hands over cheque for £10,000 to charity

Employees at Macphie were delighted to handover a cheque to St. Andrew’s Hospice for £10,000 after fundraising throughout 2016.

The Macphie team in Tannochside raised an incredible £7,606.67 through various events including It’s a Knockout, Pedal for Scotland, a bake sale, raffle and Christmas Jumper Day.

Delighted with the total raised, the Macphie board offered to donate a further £2393.39 to bring the grand total to £10,000.

The team had originally set an annual fundraising target of £2,500 for St. Andrew’s Hospice, which provides care and treatment for those suffering from life threatening illnesses, so were delighted to have beat their goal significantly by the end of the year.

Gail Donan, Events and Community Co-ordinator at St. Andrew’s Hospice, extended her thanks to the team and everyone who supported their fundraising efforts. The fundraising team at the hospice is challenged with raising £88,000 per week to continue supporting the people of Lanarkshire with specialist palliative care. The hospice is currently undergoing significant transformations which will be supported by this donation.
