Our bakers had a few extra pairs of hands thanks to our recent visitors from Lochside Primary School.
The Primary 2 class from a local primary school in Montrose is learning about where food comes from and how it reaches the customer so we invited them in for a tour around Macphie. Our baker, Tom Hunter, showed the class how to make bread from scratch and was on hand to answer their questions.
Of course we couldn’t let them leave without getting their hands dirty so we gave them a go at decorating their own cupcakes to take home with sprinkles galore.
The children said they had a fantastic morning, with one young boy describing it as, “the best school trip ever”.
As a company, Macphie is passionate about corporate social responsibility and our impact within our community. We drive a number of different initiatives and this trip was part of our ongoing commitment to our local community and the education sector. For more information, please contact Louise Shankley.
