o.t.t® PLUS range shortlisted for award

Macphie’s o.t.t® PLUS range has been shortlisted in the Best New Product category of the North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards.

The awards highlight the achievements, entrepreneurship, and products of businesses in the food and drink industry throughout Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

The other businesses shortlisted in the Best New Product category are:

Associated Seafoods Ltd – Three Fish Roast

Dean’s of Huntly Ltd – Herdy All Butter Shortbread Range

Joseph Robertson (Aberdeen) Ltd – Get Hooked Salmon Florentine En Croute

Mackie’s of Scotland – Strawberry Swirl

Launched in September last year, the range is a premium extension to our original o.t.t® dessert topping collection. The indulgent sauces, which are available in three flavours – milk chocolate, white chocolate and speculoos – are the perfect partner for dessert parlours, cafes, and restaurant kitchens.

The extension to the existing range was developed in response to the rising popularity of dessert parlours and general consumption of desserts in the foodservice space.

By tracking food trends, it was identified that the dessert market has expanded by 42% since 2018. In addition, 49% of consumers said they would be more likely to order a dessert if it was made with premium ingredients.

Kirsty Matthews, our Marketing and Insights Manager at Macphie, said: “After spotting an opportunity in the market for premiumisation, we wanted to ensure that we were meeting and catering for these emerging trends by taking things up a notch.

“Dessert parlours are pushing boundaries and need products that match that – we feel that we have achieved this and more.

“People want loaded indulgence and a multi-sensory experience when it comes to desserts, and our on-trend sauces provide exactly that.”
