Our packaging is designed to protect the products and ensure they remain at the top of their game for the duration of their shelf life.

Food packaging plays a crucial role in food safety as well as avoiding food waste (which has the largest environmental impact of the entire food supply chain and is a major contributor to climate change).

We are constantly evolving our packaging to reduce our environmental impacts and work with our suppliers to ensure we are at the forefront of innovation to improve recycling.

Across our packaging we sign post what can be done with it after you have finished every last drop of it!  We know that business recycling differs across local authorities so please check locally what you need to do.  Below you will find information to help you with this.

The o.t.t® dessert topping range

The boxes are made with corrugated recycled materials.  This means it is made from a renewable resource.  It is then collected at the end of its life for recycling to begin the process again, leading to a more sustained resource over time.

The bottles themselves include guidance on recycling from OPRL (rinse the bottle and cap and recycle). Great taste, even less waste!

Tetra Pak

Across our sweet, & savoury sauces, glazes, dairy cream alternatives and desserts we use Tetra Pak for our 1 litre pack sizes.

These are packaged in Tetra Pak’s bio-based packaging which is made from 87% renewable materials.   These cartons use 2.2 times less fossil plastic than those previously used.

In addition, there is guidance on recycling from OPRL to make it as easy as possible for you to know what to do once you have finished using the product.

And the tray it comes in is made with corrugated recycled materials.  This means it is made from a renewable resource.  It is then collected at the end of its life for recycling to begin the process again, leading to a more sustained resource over time.

The shrink wrap film is made with 30%+ recycled content, it is made with LDPE (low density polyethylene), and as such comes with the same recycling potential as you would for items such as plastic carrier bags/bread bags.

10 litre bag in box

Many of our our sweet, & savoury sauces, glazes and dairy cream alternatives are also available in 10litre boxes.

The boxes are made with corrugated recycled materials.  This means it is made from a renewable resource.  It is then collected at the end of its life for recycling to begin the process again, leading to a more sustained resource over time.

The glanded bags within are made with PET & PE layers as such recyclability will depend on local authority provisions as these layers require to be separated due to the difference in melting point when being recycled.

Bags

We produce powder product such as our sweet bakery and finishings range in bags.

The bags as a whole are recyclable dependant on local council stipulations due to the plastic liner.  If the liner is removed from the bag, the 2 paper plys are fully recyclable, and the liner would again be dependent on local council stipulations.

Pails

Our icings, fillings and frostings come in pails, the lids allow you to reseal after opening meaning you can continue to use the product until the end of its shelf life.

Both the pails and lids are made from polypropylene which is recyclable.  You will see the PP5 logo on the bottom of the pails.

We know that lots of our customers have inventive ways to re-use the pails, and it always makes us smile to see this.
