Recipe Cakey French toast
Ingredients
- 1kg Macphie Madeira Cake Mix
- 400g water
- 145g cake margarine
- Macphie o.t.t® Maple Flavour Syrup dessert topping
- Macphie Sweet Snow®
- 3 whole eggs
- 100ml Mactop® Traditional
- Salted butter
- Strawberries
Method
You can either make the cake from scratch or use up leftovers. Place the Macphie Madeira Cake Mix & margarine into a machine bowl fitted with a paddle, mix for 1 minute on slow speed.
Add water and mix for 1 minute on slow speed, scrape down. Mix for a further 4 minutes on middle speed, mix for a final minute on slow speed.
Bake the cake as a loaf for 40-50 minutes at 180°C.
Next day, slice the cake into 3-4cm thickness.
Make a mix of whole egg and Mactop® Traditional and soak the cake in the mix for 2-3 minutes. Pan fry in salted butter until golden brown on both sides.
Stack and coat generously with Macphie o.t.t® Maple Flavour Syrup dessert topping and dust with Macphie Sweet Snow® and serve with strawberries.
