Dark chocolate Viennese


  • 1kg Macphie Viennese Mix 
  • 500g butter or margarine
  • 50g dark cocoa powder
  • 200g melted chocolate, white or dark
  • Gold & silver leaf

Method Makes 10-12 biscuits

  1. Place Macphie Viennese Mix into a machine bowl fitted with a paddle, add the softened butter and mix on slow speed until fat is dispersed. Mix on medium speed for 5 minutes.

  2. Put the mix in a large piping bag with a star nozzle. Pipe in wide fingers on a silicone baking mat.

  3. Bake for 15 mins at 190⁰C. Leave to cool on a wire rack.

  4. Once cooled dip each biscuit in the melted chocolate, add a bit of gold or silver leaf and return to the wire rack to set.
