Ingredients

  • 1000g Macphie Scone Mix
  • 420g water
  • if adding fruit then for the above quantities add 150g sultanas or other fruit

Method: Makes 14 100g Scones 

  1. Place Macphie Scone Mix into a machine fitted with a beater, and stream in water and mix for 1 minute on slow speed.

  2. Mix for 1 minute on medium speed.

  3. Split the mix and add dried fruit to half and mix thoroughly on slow speed.

  4. Remove dough from bowl and chaff up and rest for 5 minutes.

  5. Pin out to ¼ inch thick and cut out using desired cutter.

  6. Pan up, glaze and leave to rest for 10 minutes.

  7. Bake for 12 minutes at 220°C.
