Recipe The Great British Toad in the hole with gravy
Ingredients
- 140g plain flour
- 4 eggs
- 200ml milk
- Sunflower oil for cooking
- Salt & pepper
- Macphie Demi-Glace or Plant-based Demi-Glace
- Sausages (meat or plant-based)
- Garnish with rosemary
Method Makes 12 portions
Heat fan oven to 210°C.
Drizzle a little sunflower oil evenly into 12-hole non-stick muffin tins and place in the oven to heat through.
To make the batter, tip plain flour into a bowl and beat in the eggs until smooth.
Gradually add the milk and carry on beating until the mix is completely lump-free. Season with salt and pepper.
Pour the batter into a jug, then remove the hot tins from the oven. Carefully and evenly pour the batter into the holes & pop in some pre-cooked sausages in the centre.
Place the tins back in the oven and leave undisturbed for 20-25 minutes until the puddings have puffed up and browned.
Heat up Macphie Plant-based Demi-Glace & serve.
Garnish with rosemary as required.
